Tarik Skubal throws a gem in a 6-2 Tigers Sweep against the Yankees

The Tigers sweep the Yankees today in a 6-2 win. Tarik Skubal went 6 innings and only gave up 3 hits with 8 strike outs. The Yankees had 3 errors with two of them coming in the the 3rd inning and both errors came from shortstop Glayber Torres.

The Tigers started the scoring in the 1st inning, thanks to a Nomar Mazara double that drove in both Niko Goodrum and Miguel Cabrera. No one scored scored in the 2nd and the 3rd inning was the start of the Yankees errors. Victor Reyes drove in a run off an error from Torres. Nestor Cortes loaded the bases with 2 outs when Willi Castro hit a bullet down the line clearing the bases, making it 6-0. Tarik Skubal mowed down the yankee batters earning him his 2nd win of the year and his 3rd consecutive game with at least 8 strike outs, first time by a tigers rookie.

The Tigers travel to Milwaukee for a inter league 2 game series starting Monday at 2:10 PM EST with Corbin Burnes taking the mound for the Brew Crew and a pitcher TBD for the motor town kitties.
